This is a collection of PowerPoint presentations designed by intern students in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences.  The presentations are the end results of the student projects.

This internship is designed for students and faculty to study agroecology on working farms and gain a whole-farm perspective of some farms in the diverse agricultural landscape of Pennsylvania. With the support of a USDA Higher Education Challenge grant, students were paid for a 12 week internship during the summer of 2003 or 2004.

Students spend the first week on campus learning about agroecology and farming systems with faculty. In groups of two, the interns then spend 10 weeks working on a farm, documenting their experiences, conducting individual study projects with guidance from faculty, and visiting the other participating host farms. With assistance from farmers, faculty, and staff, the interns analyze the farm components to develop a whole-farm case study. During the final 10 days of the internship, interns and faculty prepare individual projects and descriptive farm case studies that can be used by educators to enhance agroecology curriculum. At the end of the internship, the interns share their instructional materials, research projects, and experiences with faculty, farmers, and other agricultural educators.
