Please read this carefully before starting. This is how a conversation about suicide would ideally go with someone you are concerned about.

Not everyone will say they are thinking of suicide, but you would be surprised how many will. It is a myth that asking someone if they are thinking about suicide will make them do it. You cannot make someone who is not suicidal become suicidal by asking if they are. If someone is already suicidal, asking does not make it worse.

You are the concerned person in this dialogue. Click on your part and read it aloud. After reading, click on Alex to hear the response. Speaking your part will make you more comfortable than reading. Like anything, the more you practice, the better you will be interacting with someone in crisis in real life.
