Human Development & Learning (HD&L) is an Open Educational Resource that uses an Integrated Systems Approach - based on Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Theory of Human Development and the Three Domains of Human Development - to frame the following thematic areas: social contexts; socio-emotional, physical and cognitive development: cognition and learning; and effective teaching particularly as they relate to understanding how individuals learn and develop, individual variation, and the implications for educational practice.

The HD&L learning object repository houses resources that the author has been assembling and developing since 2000. In recent years, this has been extended to include student and colleague contributions to produce a living, collaborative resource comprised of themed-based summaries, links, videos, activities, interactive modules, and other educational materials. Designed to support the study of Human Development & Applied Psychology – or Educational Psychology – for Teacher Preparation at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels and for Professional Development.
