Point light lipreading
This website explains the point-light system of measuring facial movements important to lipreading. There are movies to play showing the advantages of having more or fewer light spots. Their experiments show that untrained people can read these white dots on a black background.

Although not certain about the usefulness of the technique this web site has extensive resources related to speechreading and visual speech perception. There are excellent links to other web sites of auditory-visual speech perception. This would be a good basis to obtain references to use in an auditory rehabilitation course.
Technical Remarks:
Some of the technology did not work properly. Overall it was easy to use and very clear.
