accessibility Versus Disability

This is avery good reference material in this topic where the author talks about 2 different camps, one is supporting web accessibility for everyone while the other camp is NOT against this idea but they just focus more on accessibility for people with certain disabilities and how this should be improved. This site also contains different comments from readers/users.AND has also nice related posts: ( Accessibililty only for disabilities)http://www.autisticcuckoo.net/archive.php?id=2005/06/27/accessibility-for-disabilities-only.

This resource, "Accessibility for all vs. for people with disabilities," is part of a blog authored by Roger Johansson. The discussion examines whether there is a conflict between two basic societal questions: Should we design and build for everyone, and accommodate people with disabilities by that method? Or, should we design specifically for people with (defined) disabilities because it makes for more clearly delineated and "doable" projects? Johansson's blog has an intelligent discussion in its own regard, but also links out to other articles and blogs. It confirms that a lot of people are actively thinking about accessibility issues from both ethical and legal viewpoints. This would make it useful as a starter for classroom (or online class) discussions.
