Recent research suggests that fairly simple interventions can have surprisingly large effects (a NYT op-ed summarizes them here) on student success.  Since the online environment is highly controlled, it seemed like this would be an excellent opportunity to test the effect of implementing these interventions. I introduced these interventions after two semesters of baseline data gathering, and report the results here after one additional semester.
