National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS)
The National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS) is the national repository developed to help states collect standardized medical service data. The primary goal of NEMSIS is to provide a system for EMS databases from across the nation to collect and share their information. This will allow for improved analysis of EMS procedures and patient care as well as the ability to compare data across jurisdictional and state boundaries. This process is hoped to provide better evaluation of the EMS role in healthcare. The NEMSIS website provides access to a number of emergency medical services (EMS) databases and data elements, and allows website visitors to download several articles and publications based on the NEMSIS dataset. This site will be useful for anyone entering or working in the EMS fields.
