Career Pathways: Focus on Biotechnology is a students' guide to biotechnology careers in North Carolina. North Carolina has made biotechnology a central part of its economic development strategy and is home to over 350 bioscience companies who offer a wide variety of career opportunities. North Carolina has committed to programs at community colleges and universities that are industry-focused and provide hands-on training for an industry that places enormous value on the scientific and technical training of its employees. To support this industry, we want to assure that potential employees know about the opportunities available in biotechnology and the preparation required in high school and at the community college and university levels to make career choices in this field.
